Today, scientists are beginning to understand the value and power of what is called ‘thought energy’. They are beginning to study what our ancient Rishis knew thousands of years ago.

One of the fundamental laws of life is that, ‘Energy follows thought’. As we think, so we become. If we fear a fall, there is a possibility that we shall truly fall. To put it simply, we become what we think. Hence we should be very careful with our thoughts.

Life gives us a choice between positivism and negativism. If you want to be a winner in life, then choose to be positive. A positive person is happy under all circumstances. His life has a ‘subtle’ energy which keeps him happy and contented.

How can you become positive? May I suggest that you follow a few simple rules:

1) Cultivate the spirit of acceptance – not just passive acceptance, but acceptance with faith and hope. Do your very best to achieve the result that you have in view. But in spite of your best efforts you are unable to succeed in your plans, you must learn to accept it as the will of God

2) Train the mind. The mind, as our scriptures tell us, often behaves like a drunken monkey or like a wild horse. It has to be controlled; it has to be trained to shun negativism.

3) Believe that, ‘This too shall pass away’. Tell yourself. “This trying time is here to test my faith. This stressful period will get over soon.” For at the end of every tunnel is light, at the end of a dark night there is the beautiful dawn.

4) Keep your mind fully occupied. This will not only keep you away from worry and other wasteful thoughts, but will make the mind strong and constructive.

5) Always remember that God is with you. Tell yourself constantly: He is my Father and Mother. He is the One who protects all of us at all times.

In some rare cases, one life is not sufficient to take away the negativism of numerous previous births. But you must continue your efforts ceaselessly, and some day out of the blue you will see, the clouds disperse and the sun shines brightly!
