A day after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers staged a protest against Congress leader Praniti Shinde in Solapur over her remarks on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, the first-time MP said she would "never apologise to the trolls and the andhbhakts" of the saffron party.
"If the families of those 26 people are affected, we are willing to say sorry 1,000 times. But we will never apologise to these trolls and the andhbhakts of the BJP. The BJP has used Operation Sindoor for their PR tactics and optics. This is the stand we maintain even today," Shinde said on Wednesday.
Earlier, participating in the debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, Shinde accused the government of turning national security into a spectacle to distract the public before elections.

She said, "Operation Sindoor was nothing but a 'tamasha' of the government in the media. No one is telling us what was achieved by Operation Sindoor. How many terrorists were caught? How many of our fighter jets did we lose? Whose fault was it?"
Shinde's comments sparked outrage among BJP workers, who accused her of insulting the Indian armed forces. In Solapur, protesters raised slogans condemning her statement and expressed anger over what they called "an affront to the honour of jawans." They also placed a photograph of Shinde on a donkey to mark their dissent.
Later, the word 'tamasha' used by Shinde in her speech was expunged from the official records of the Parliament.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his speech on Tuesday, said, "She (Shinde) was made to say that Operation Sindoor was a 'tamasha'. This is like putting acid (on the wounds) of the 26 people killed by terrorists."
