Who Is Karishma Hagawane? All You Need To Know About Vaishnavi's Hagawane's Sister-In-Law

After Vaishnavi Hagawane's parents lodged an FIR against her in-laws after she allegedly hanged herself on May 16, the police have arrested her husband Shashank, father-in-law Rajendra, mother-in-law Lata, sister-in-law Karishma and brother-in-law Sushil.

In their complaint, Vaishnavi's parents alleged they had given 51 tolas (595 gm) of gold, silver, and an SUV to her husband's family at the time of marriage, but the Hagawane family harassed her further, demanding she bring Rs 2 crore to purchase land.

Vaishnavi's maternal uncle, Uttam Bahirat, said she had begun facing physical and mental abuse within six months of the marriage in 2023, adding, "She admitted to me that she regretted her decision of marrying Shashank against her family's wishes."

Vaishnavi's WhatsApp chat with her friend has gone viral on social media. In the chat, she expressed that she wanted to divorce her husband due to the torture.

"My husband was watching when I was being beaten, but he didn't say anything. Later, he too hit me. I have decided to divorce him. I have told this to my father. He said we will discuss," she told her friend. "I feel bad because my husband, whom I married against everyone's wishes, never really became mine. I made a big mistake by marrying him. Now it has gone beyond talking and understanding. I had never imagined such a thing would happen in my life," she added.

Who is Karishma Hagawane?

Karishma is Vaishnavi's sister-in-law. She has been accused of mentally and physically abusing Vaishnavi. Mayuri Jagtap, wife of Sushil Hagawane, has also accused her of the same.

According to her Instagram profile, Karishma is a fashion designer. She owns a brand called 'Laxmitara'. Reportedly, the brand's shop is in Kothrud.

On her Instagram page, she has posted pictures with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's wife and NCP Rajya Sabha MP Sunetra Pawar, NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar and NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule.

Incidentally, her last two posts are of her sister-in-law Vaishnavi.
