A solidarity walk will be held on Sunday, April 27, at 8am, starting from Shaheed Ashok Kamthe Garden in Pimple Nilakh. The event is being organised by Nisarg Sevak in collaboration with the Pune River Revival movement to raise awareness about the ecological restoration of the Mula river.

This walk will follow the "Mula Nadi Parikrama – Riparian Tree Mapping" campaign, which will be held on Saturday. It includes activities like documenting tree species along the river and encouraging citizens to participate in protecting river ecosystems. The aim is to shift the focus from concrete riverfront development to science-based, natural rejuvenation methods.

Actress Priyadarshini Indalkar has lent her support to the initiative and appealed to the public to oppose large-scale development projects by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) that could damage the river’s natural flow and ecology.

Following the walk, the event will feature expert talks on river ecology, personal stories by citizens and activists, and cultural performances such as river-themed songs and poetry. There will also be discussions on alternative approaches to urban development that prioritise sustainability.
