Waterlogging in Nashik

The river has breached its alert level, and water has inundated several parts of the city. One car was seen stuck and partially submerged in the floodwaters, highlighting the intensity of the situation. Currently, the Godavari is flowing at full capacity, raising concerns of further flooding if rains continue.

Authorities have urged citizens to stay away from the riverbanks and avoid unnecessary travel until the water levels recede. Emergency response teams are on standby for any rescue operations.

Even as heavy rains continue to lash parts of Maharashtra, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for Nashik district for June 19, 2025. The forecast indicates a high likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall in several areas, particularly in low-lying and ghat regions.

The district administration has appealed to citizens to remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay away from flood-prone zones. Emergency response teams have been kept on standby as a precautionary measure.
