In a shocking case of animal abuse which has come to light in Pune, a woman was seen thrashing a pet cat in society corridor. She was caught on camera while striking it repeatedly on the floor, then tossing it like a football.
The video has sent shockwaves through the city.
Meanwhile, after the video was highlighted by a woman, Nitesh Khare of the Society for Animal Safety registered a case. When he called the woman, she abused him and spoke very rudely.
Khare has posted the video on Instagram and wrote, "Trigger Warning: Animal Abuse. A pet cat was brutally beaten and thrown in a corridor by a student from Chhattisgarh residing in Pune with her partner. Thanks to swift action and police intervention, we got them detained and made them realize their mistake. The cat is now safe and will soon move to a loving foster home. NC has been filed. All identities have been kept confidential to ensure the safety of the woman involved and protect her career aspirations."
