Pune: Vishwajit Jadhav, Son-in-law Of Vaishali Restaurant's Owner Jagannath Shetty, Arrested In Loan Fraud

Vishwajit Jadhav, the son-in-law of the late Jagannath Shetty, the owner of the renowned Vaishali Hotel, was arrested in connection with a loan fraud case on Friday.

Vishwajit Jadhav had allegedly taken a loan of Rs. 4.76 crore using fake documents in the name of his wife.

According to Vivek Masal, DCP of Cyber and EOW Deccan Police Station, "A case was filed against Vishwajit Jadhav, who was wanted for the crime. While his search was going on, the accused appeared before the court today and was arrested this afternoon and produced before the Honorable Court. He has been given police custody till Sunday."

Earlier, Vishwajit Jadhav's name came in the news when he was embroiled in a dispute over the ownership of Vaishali Hotel. Both parties have filed complaints against each other with the police, resulting in an ongoing legal battle. In 2023, the power of attorney of Vaishali, a South Indian restaurant in Pune, was forcefully taken at gunpoint by primary accused Vishwajit Jadhav.

Jadhav was earlier accused by his wife Nikita that he forced the her to consume drugs and liquor and assaulted her. She was subjected to physical and mental torture on a regular basis by her husband and in-laws after their marriage, she had added in her complaint.
