Speaking English is often viewed as a measure of intelligence. Those who speak it fluently are typically perceived as sophisticated, while the ones who don't are ridiculed.

We tend to be impressed when people without fancy degrees or high-status jobs, like hawkers or shopkeepers, converse in English. A recent viral video from Pune captures a similar moment.

The video shows an elderly man sitting by the roadside, playing the flute and speaking perfect English. This has captivated social media users, earning him widespread admiration and even donations.

An X (formerly Twitter) user Nitin Godbole took to the microblogging site recently and shared the video of the elderly man. He stated that the man named Naresh Jain was playing the flute outside Irani Cafe on Prabhat Road. He asked Jain if he was from Pune. Jain, in perfect English, replied, "I was born in Khadki actually. Due to my health reasons, I had to move from there. I presently stay near the ISKCON temple in Katraj." Jain then went on to play the flute wonderfully.

Replying to Godbole's post, many praised Jain for his flute-playing skills and asked for his UPI ID to send donations.

"He plays in Aundh too, near Taaareef (restaurant) and Chitale Bandhu. Plays beautifully. I have made donations too," said one user.

"Why can't our society ensure these artists are well take care of? We see so many corrupt officers, criminal politicians and horrible rotten builders making crores in this society But Real talent is made to beg like this," commented another user.

"Can you provide me the QR code? Tried to take a grab from the video but not clear," another user wrote.
