Pune: Tragedy on Dehu-Alandi Route, Crane Fatally Hits 57-Year-Old Warkari

A Warkari was tragically killed after being hit by a speeding crane while on a pilgrimage from Dehu to Alandi on Wednesday. The incident occurred around 11:45 am in the Talawade area along the Dehu-Alandi Road.
The deceased has been identified as Narayan Godave (57), a resident of Ahergaon village in Madha taluka, Solapur district. He was walking from Dehu towards Alandi when a speeding crane hit him near Shelarvasti.
Godave was severely injured and rushed to the YCM Hospital in Pimpri by Chikhli police, where doctors declared him dead before starting the treatment.
The police immediately contacted his son, who resides in Mumbai. The crane driver has been taken into custody, and formal charges are being filed. The investigation is currently underway.
