A tragic incident has come to light from Pune's Uttam Nagar, where a couple died by suicide in a forested area near Khadakwasla Dam by consuming poison.
The incident took place between Thursday night and Friday morning.
As per the initial information, they both consumed poison, which led to their deaths.
The age of the deceased has been identified as male, 24, and female, 16.

According to the police, on July 10, a missing complaint was filed at Wanawadi Police Station by the sister of the 16-year-old girl who was later found dead near Khadakwasla.
In the First Information Report, the complainant mentioned that she had dropped her sister at Physics Wallah coaching centre on Solapur Road.
However, the girl did not return on time after the class ended. The sister then rushed to the Wanawadi Police Station and lodged a missing person complaint.
Satyajeet Aadmane, SPI of Wanawadi Police Station, speaking to The Free Press Journal, said, “We had filed a missing complaint under relevant sections, and a search operation was started. Later, we received information from Uttam Nagar Police that the dead bodies had been found near Khadakwasla. The complainant and her sister resided in the Manjari area.”
Mohan Khandare, Senior Police Inspector of Uttam Nagar Police Station, speaking to The Free Press Journal, said, “We recovered both dead bodies from the forested area of the dam around 12 noon on Friday.
The boy was a native of Ahmednagar. A poison bottle was found near them. As per the initial investigation, it appears they consumed poison. However, the bodies have been sent for medical examination.”
“Why they committed suicide is a part of the ongoing investigation. The facts will soon be established and further action will be taken accordingly," he added.
