In good news for Punekars, the much-anticipated Shivajinagar-Hinjawadi metro line is scheduled to commence operations by Diwali 2025, according to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Siddharth Shirole, who made the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.
"With 75% of work already completed, the much-important Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar Metro is set to become operational by Diwali 2025! With the project scheduled for full completion by March 2025, Pune is on the brink of achieving a transformative leap in metro connectivity," wrote Shirole.
He added, "This 23.3 km-long Line 3 will not only enhance daily commutes but also boost development and ease traffic congestion across the city. Get ready for a new era of connectivity and progress!"
The Shivajinagar MLA also thanked the state and central governments and all the administration and leadership "who have worked tirelessly to ensure this project is expedited and completed to world-class standards."
