The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) conducted anti-encroachment drives on Thursday on sections of FC Road to clear footpaths and roadsides of illegal vendors and stalls. Under the drive, the unauthorized shops in 614 B were removed. The action involved unauthorized construction over an area of approximately 12,500 square feet.

Santosh Bankar, head of the anti-encroachment department at PMC, said,
"This operation was successfully carried out by the Construction Development Department Zone 6, and it was important to raze the encroached area to maintain law and order. The drive will also help to reduce traffic in key areas. More action will be taken in the coming days."
The drive was led by Executive Engineer Surendra Karpe. Among others present on the occasion were Additional Deputy Commissioners Vishesh Sarangal, Jasbir Singh, Assistant Commissioner Hardeep Singh, Deputy Director DBEE Jaswant Rai, DPO Gurminder Randhawa, and others.
