In a shocking news from Pune, two police constables have been suspended after it came to light that they extorted Rs 20,000 from a young man who was sitting in a car with his female friend and chatting on Tuesday night.
The incident took place on Tuesday night in the Damle Path area near Law College Road. The two police personnel, Ganesh Desai and Yogesh Sutar, were on night patrol when they allegedly approached the couple and threatened the young man with legal action unless he paid up to avoid further trouble.

When the young man said he didn’t have the money with him, the officers forced him onto a two-wheeler and took him to an ATM in the Kamala Nehru Park area, where he withdrew Rs 20,000 under pressure and handed it over.
Frightened by the ordeal, the couple later approached the Deccan Police Station, where a complaint was filed.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1), Nikhil Pingle, took swift action and ordered their immediate suspension, stating that their actions had tarnished the image of the police force.
