Pune Crime: Fake Godman Used Spy App To Exploit Victims, Nabbed By Bavdhan Police

Bavdhan Police in Pimpri-Chinchwad have arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly deceiving people under the guise of having divine powers and committing cybercrimes.

Regarding the matter, a 32-year-old victim has lodged a police complaint at the Bavdhan Police Station. The incident took place between November 2024 and June 26, 2025.

The accused has been identified as Prasad alias Baba alias Prasad Dada Bhimrao Tamdar, a resident of Swami Samarth Building, Sus Gaon, Mulshi taluka.

According to the police, the complainant, Swapnil Shankar Parkhe, is a businessman. The accused portrayed himself as a spiritual man, possessing divine insight. Gaining the trust of the complainant by accidentally revealing details about their past lives, the accused allegedly installed a hidden application called AirDroid Kid on the victim's mobile phone without his knowledge.

Through this app, he accessed Parkhe's private mobile activity remotely, misused personal information and coerced him into performing obscene acts.

The accused also allegedly extorted Rs 15,000 from the complainant under the pretext of performing rituals and helping with religious blessings.

Anil Vibhute, Senior Police Inspector of Bavdhan Police Station, speaking to The Free Press Journal, said, "So far, four victims have complained regarding the accused. Further investigation is ongoing to identify additional victims and determine the modus operandi of the accused. The accused has been arrested and will be produced in court today. We urge the people to come forward and lodge a police complaint if they have been cheated by the accused in the past."

Regarding the matter, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013 and the Information Technology Act.
