3 Labourers Suffocate To Death While Installing Optical Fibre In Pimpri-Chinchwad's Nigdi Pradhikaran (VIDEO)

Three labourers have died in Pimpri-Chinchwad's Nigdi Pradhikaran area. The incident happened Friday afternoon. While they were working in the chamber to change optical fibres, they suffocated and died.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Sandeep Atole told the Free Press Journal, "Primary information is that the three people were installing optical fibre in a chamber. Their bodies have been shifted to Nigdi's Lokmanya Hospital."

Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Bansode, in charge of Nigdi Police Station, told the media, "Today afternoon around 3 pm, near HDFC Bank, BSNL optic fibre work was ongoing. BSNL had created ducts for that. To do some work, four labourers went there."
He continued, "one labourer went down into the duct and felt suffocated. The two others followed and died. There was water in the duct; they suffocated and drowned. The fourth didn’t jump but called for help from others. Doctors declared all of them dead. We will investigate the matter further, and the BSNL officials will be interrogated."
