Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol informed that a Pune Airport Advisory Committee had been formed with five nominated members — Sudhir Mehta, Abhijit Pawar, Akhilesh Joshi, Amit Paranjape and Amit Tingre, with Mohol as its president.
Reportedly, the committee, consisting of stakeholders such as the Airports Authority of India (AAI), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indian Air Force (IAF) and airlines, will hold its first meeting soon. The last meeting was held over two years ago when the late Girish Bapat, former Pune MP, was its president.

Meanwhile, Mohol has also informed that all flight movements from the old Pune Airport terminal will be shifted to the new terminal in the next 15-20 days.
Regarding reports that the old terminal will be demolished and redeveloped, the Pune MP said no decision has been taken so far. "Discussions are underway about how to renovate it. In the first phase, the renovation of only the old arrival area would be taken up. It will be turned into an additional departure area with a new security hold, 16 check-in counters and a security check," he said. "Furthermore, a state-of-the-art security check area will be introduced, equipped with advanced Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs) and X-ray machines to enhance security measures and expedite the screening process," he added.
Currently, around 15 arrivals and 15 departures of some airlines are still operating from the old terminal building.
