Pune: 27-Year-Old Woman Dies By Suicide Amid Ongoing Divorce Proceedings In Fursungi

A shocking incident of suicide has come to light in Pune's Fursungi, where a 27-year-old married woman died by suicide after allegedly being depressed due to court hearings related to her divorce case.

The incident took place in the first week of April. However, a case was registered on Friday night at the Fursungi Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to the police, the deceased woman was married to Abhishek Khaladkar (35) six years ago. However, within 20 days, she left her in-laws' house and never returned. She was living at her native place in Fursungi.

Mangal Modhave, Senior Police Inspector of Fursungi Police Station, speaking to The Free Press Journal, said Khaladkar has been arrested. They had filed for divorce, and the matter was in court.

As per her sister's complaint, in the first week of April, after a hearing in the divorce case, she became depressed and later committed suicide.

However, the matter is under investigation, and action will be taken accordingly.
