Midnight Heist On Bhosari-Beed Bus In Pune: Thieves Assault And Rob Driver, Conductor, Passenger

A group of four unidentified individuals entered a private travel bus, beat the conductor and driver, and looted them on Thursday. However, the police have no clues so far that could help track down the accused.

According to the information, the bus was heading from Bhosari to Beed. The incident took place at around 11:45pm in front of Samruddhi Lodging near Bakori Phata on the Pune–Ahilyanagar Road, while the bus had halted to pick up passengers.

According to the complaint filed by Bhausehab Yuvraj Misal (26), the bus driver (a resident of Mayur Naygaon, Patoda Taluka, Beed district), the assailants barged into the bus and assaulted him, the conductor, and a passenger. The goons snatched cash amounting to ₹7,622 from the conductor before fleeing the spot.

A case of dacoity has been registered at Wagholi Police Station against the four accused under Sections 309(4), 309(6), 115(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita.

As per the police, Misal works as a driver for Yuvraj Travels, owned by Yuvraj Bhosale of Shahunagar, Beed. On Thursday evening, around 8pm, the bus departed from Bhosari, picking up passengers along the route. As the vehicle reached Samruddhi Lodging near Bakori Phata around 11:45pm, three individuals suddenly boarded the bus.

They first approached passenger Rishikesh Sanap (24), a resident of Beed, who was seated near the bonnet, and assaulted him, demanding money. One of the assailants then turned to the driver and forcibly snatched ₹5,500 from his shirt pocket while hitting him. Simultaneously, the third attacker assaulted the conductor, Santosh Thokal (33), also from Beed, and forcibly took ₹2,122 from his trouser pocket.

After the assault, all three robbers exited the bus and fled in a white Swift car that was waiting nearby. The car sped off towards Ahilyanagar.

Senior Police Inspector Yuvraj Hande, speaking to The Free Press Journal, said, "The place was too crowded at the time of the incident. Taking advantage of this, the goons fled. However, we are investigating the matter and analysing the CCTV footage. They will be arrested soon."
