After the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela, the administration is preparing for the Kumbh Mela to be held in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar in 2027. Emphasis is being placed on detailed planning. To provide immediate help in emergency situations, the Nashik Police Force will set up a war room on the lines of Prayagraj.
The Kumbh Mela held in Prayagraj in 2025 became a topic of discussion at the global level. The number of people who came to bathe during the Amrit Parva reached a record level. There were incidents of stampede, inconvenience to devotees, minor accidents, etc. Despite the vastness of the Ganga River, issues such as a lack of planning and poor coordination between establishments were also highlighted. AI technology will be used while emphasising detailed planning to prevent such problems during the Kumbh Parva to be held in 2027.
While meetings are ongoing at the administrative level, various departments are also planning in their own ways. Nashik Police will train volunteers in disaster management, crowd control and precautions to be taken during stampedes, keeping law and order in mind. Study tours are being conducted to Prayagraj, Pandharpur and other places in the state to understand how crowd planning is done during yatras and festivals.
On the other hand, a separate war room will be created to oversee the implementation of planning, manage real-time situations and handle sudden incidents. Officials from various departments, including health, police, district administration, the state transport corporation, railways, and construction, will be present in this war room.
