Kidnapping Foiled: Six-Year-Old Girl Rescued In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar; Four Arrested

A six-year-old girl from the Dhokla area in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, was kidnapped, and the kidnappers had planned to sell her to a trader in Hyderabad for Rs 1.5 lakh. The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar commissionerate’s crime branch foiled the kidnap bid by arresting the kidnappers and rescuing the girl on Thursday. The Gujarat police and crime branch police arrested the kidnappers at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar railway station. The arrested have been identified as Jayesh Vikram Rathod (22), Vimal Prafulkumar Solanki (30), Manisha Mahesh Solanki (29), all residents of Gujarat, and Samadhan Keval Jagtap (32), from Nashik.

A couple from Rajasthan living in the Dhokla area in Ahmedabad had their six-month-old daughter kidnapped on the night of July 30. The Gujarat police started the investigation, and based on technical evidence and CCTV footage, it was found that the accused had gone towards Maharashtra state. The police came to know that the kidnappers were going to Hyderabad via Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The Gujarat police immediately contacted the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar police commissionerate and informed them about it.

CP Praveen Pawar immediately directed crime branch PI Sambhaji Pawar, PSI Sandeep Shinde, and their team to take action. PSI Shinde, constable Yogesh Navsare, Manoj Vikhankar, Priti Igal, Rahul Bangale, Vijay Ghuge, Somnath Dukale, and others laid a trap in the railway station area. Based on the description given by the Gujarat police, the police team nabbed the kidnappers during an operation that lasted around five hours. The kidnappers were trying to go to Hyderabad from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, but the police team caught them before they could board the train.

Samadhan Jagtap is an agent from Nashik who had fixed a deal to sell the girl to a trader from Hyderabad for Rs 1.5 lakh. He met Jayesh and made the plan to kidnap the girl. After fixing the deal, they planned to take the girl to Hyderabad by train, but the plan was foiled by the alertness of the police. The accused have been handed over to the Gujarat police for further investigation.
