Ashwini Vaishnaw Flags Off Hadapsar–Jodhpur Express, Assures Completion Of Pune–Lonavala Third & Fourth Railway Tracks In 3 Months | Sourced

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday flagged off the inaugural run of the Hadapsar–Jodhpur Express in Pune.

Train no. 01401 Hadapsar–Jodhpur Express left Pune at 5:30pm and is scheduled to reach Jodhpur at 2pm on Sunday, whereas train no. 01402 Jodhpur–Pune Express will leave Jodhpur at 8:30pm on Sunday and reach Pune at 5pm on Monday.

The train will halt at Chinchwad, Lonavala, Kalyan, Vasai Road, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara Jn, Ahmedabad, Mahesana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Pindwara, Jawai Bandh, Falna, Rani, Marwar Jn, Pali Marwar and Luni.

The train is composed of the following coaches: one AC 2-tier, four AC 3-tier economy, five sleeper class, four general second class, one general second class-cum-guard’s brake van, and one generator van.

Speaking at the inauguration, Vaishnaw said, "Construction of 1,300 new railway stations is being done under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 34,000 km of railway line is being built, and it is not going to stop there."

Regarding the projects in Pune, he said, "The Pune to Ahmednagar DPR has been designed and sanctioned. Work will start soon. The project of decongesting Pune Station and developing new stations like Hadapsar, Khadki, Shivajinagar, Uruli and Alandi is being done. For Pune to Lonavala, the third and fourth railway tracks will be developed soon, in the next two to three months."

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol, who is also the Pune MP, said, "Three to four lakh Rajasthani people reside in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. The Hadapsar–Jodhpur Express will be hugely beneficial for them."

"In the last ten years, the BJP government has given a lot to the people of Maharashtra, including Pune, Kolhapur and other cities. We are very thankful to the senior leaders for the support," he added.
