Two women ticket checkers of Western Railway (WR) have made headlines with their outstanding performance in 2024. From January to December, Nayana Patel, Chief Ticket Inspector, and Malliga, Deputy Chief Ticket Inspector (Dadar), demonstrated exceptional service and dedication to their duties.
Nayana Patel’s tireless efforts led to record-breaking ticket-checking earnings of approximately ₹33 lakh, detecting over 4,470 unauthorized travelers on WR's non-suburban section.
Malliga, overseeing the suburban section, achieved remarkable results by identifying 7,820 cases of ticketless travel and collecting more than ₹21.50 lakh in fines in 2024.
According to Western Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer, Vineet Abhishek, women in railways have broken stereotypes and proven their capabilities. He highlighted that Nayana Patel's determination and independent work ethic led to her record-breaking performance in ticket checking.
