Western Railway Announces Jumbo 13-Hour Mega Block Between Grant Road & Mumbai Central On February 8-9
There will be a 13-hour mega jumbo block in the western railway due to some maintenance work on February 8 and February 9 between Grant Road and Mumbai Central.

Mumbai: A jumbo mega block is announced on the western railway on February 8 and 9. The block will be carried out for 13 hours on both up and down fast lines between Grant Road and Mumbai Central Station from 10:00 PM to 11:00 AM on Saturday/Sunday.
According to a report by the news agency ANI, during this period of the jumbo block, the activity of tracks will be taken care of, as well as other maintenance of the rail like signalling and overhead equipment, Western Railways said in a statement. The block may impact the daily commuters and the local people of Mumbai.

According to the statement issued by Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, during the block period, all up and down fast line trains will be operated on slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central Station.

"Some suburban trains will remain cancelled during the block and some Churchgate trains will be short terminated/reversed ex Bandra/Dadar station," the spokesperson said. Detailed information to this effect has been made available to the station masters, the spokesperson told ANI.
Western Railway Collects Rs.117.54 Crore
Western Railway collected Rs.117.54 crore from ticketless passengers during the ticket checking from the Mumbai suburban. Intensive ticket-checking drives are conducted regularly throughout Mumbai. According to Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, In January 2025, 2.24 lakh ticketless and irregular passengers were found, resulting in the recovery of Rs.13.08 crore.
