Mumbai: In a disturbing incident on Saturday morning, an inebriated man was found inside the women’s compartment of a slow local train at Chunabhatti station. The incident took place around 8.00 am on a train bound for CSMT.

A video of the intrusion was recorded by Free Press Journal reporter Mansi Kamble and shared on X (@Manasisplaining), tagging the Mumbai Police and the Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD). However, the railway police have yet to register a case. Repeated attempts by the Free Press Journal to contact the Wadala Railway Police went unanswered.

According to Kamble, the man appeared to be intoxicated and was behaving indecently, attempting to remove his pants while staring at the women. When asked to leave, he reacted aggressively. As the train neared Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) Nagar station, he shifted to another coach.

In the latter part of the video, he is seen reboarding the train through a different compartment. Kamble managed to remove him from the women’s coach and alerted the authorities, but no help was available – neither on the platform nor via emergency helplines.

Kamble posted the video on X, captioning: “Another similar incident. Another intoxicated man climbed into the women’s coach around 8am at Chunabhatti station and was thrown out at GTB. He tried to remove his pants. Tried calling the railway helpline number – no response and no police on the platform.”

Kamble also reposted about a similar earlier incident that occurred on the same route, between Chunabhatti and CSMT, where another drunk man had entered the ladies’ coach around 8am, spat inside the train, and was allegedly under the influence of drugs. There has been no update from the Mumbai Police regarding either case.
