25-Year-Old Biker Dies After Being Hit By Speeding Truck On Mumbai-Nashik Highway Near Dive; Driver Absconding | Representational Image

Thane: A 25-year-old biker died after being hit by a speeding truck on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway near Dive on July 8. The deceased has been identified as Daniyal Shaban Khan, a resident of Baiganwadi in Shivaji Nagar, Govandi, Mumbai. He lived with his parents and brother and worked in Bhiwandi.

According to police, the incident occurred while Khan was riding home on his motorcycle after finishing work. A recklessly driven truck allegedly rammed into him from behind, causing him to fall and sustain severe injuries. Locals and passersby rushed to the scene and found him lying in a pool of blood. The truck driver reportedly fled without offering assistance.

Khan was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

A complaint was filed by Irfan Shaban Khan, the deceased’s brother, and an FIR has been registered against the unknown truck driver under sections 106(1) and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with sections 185 and 134(A)(B) of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Investigating officer Mahadawad from Narpoli Police Station said, “The driver fled the scene after abandoning the vehicle. We are obtaining details of the vehicle from the RTO in Thane. He will be apprehended soon. Further investigation is ongoing.”
