Thane News: Three Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested In Bhiwandi For Illegal Stay
The accused have been identified as Babli Daulat Shaikh (40) and Rehana Rajjak Shaikh (25), both residents of the Hanuman Tekdi area in Bhiwandi, and Mohammad Ismail Husain alias Ismail Ansari (45), a resident of the Bagalapura area in Bhiwandi.

The Bhiwandi City Police arrested three Bangladeshi nationals — including two women — on Tuesday for residing in Bhiwandi without valid visas or passports.
The accused have been identified as Babli Daulat Shaikh (40) and Rehana Rajjak Shaikh (25), both residents of the Hanuman Tekdi area in Bhiwandi, and Mohammad Ismail Husain alias Ismail Ansari (45), a resident of the Bagalapura area in Bhiwandi.
According to the police, acting on a tip-off, officials checked the documents of the trio and discovered that all three were Bangladeshi nationals living in India without valid documents. After verifying their nationality, police informed senior officials and subsequently registered an FIR under Sections 3 and 4 of the Passport Act, 1920, along with Sections 13 and 14(A)(B) of the Foreigners Act.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused had entered India without valid passports or visas. “They admitted to fleeing Bangladesh due to poverty and unemployment,” said an official.
Notably, a special drive is currently underway in Thane district to identify and apprehend Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in areas including Bhiwandi, Thane, Ulhasnagar, and Kalyan. Police confirmed that the operation is ongoing, with efforts being made to locate, arrest, and present such individuals in court. Following legal proceedings, they will be deported to their home country.
