Thane News: Kalyan Teacher Dies In Bali Rafting Accident During School Tour; Repatriation Underway

A teacher from BK Birla Public School in Kalyan died in Bali during a school tour on Saturday. A total of seventeen students from the seventh and eighth standards, along with teachers, were on the Bali tour. The deceased teacher has been identified as Shweta Pushkar Pathak (50), who had been associated with Birla Public School for the last twenty years. She taught secondary school students.
She died in a rafting accident in Bali, Indonesia, while on an international tour organized by the school. On Monday, BK Birla Public School issued a press release mentioning the untimely and tragic demise of their teacher, Shweta Pushkar Pathak, in an unfortunate accident during the trip to Bali, where she was accompanying secondary school students. All students on the trip are safe.
Upon receiving information about the tragedy, Principal Ranjana Jangra and her team, along with Pathak’s husband, reached Bali and are providing all necessary support and assistance for the repatriation of her body from Bali to India.
Pathak was more than an educator; she was a guiding light to her students, a supportive colleague, and a kind-hearted soul whose presence brought warmth and inspiration to all who knew her. Her absence is deeply felt by students, staff, and parents alike.
In the press release, the school stated that Pathak’s passion for teaching, insightful contributions, and unwavering commitment have left a lasting legacy. The school also requested that the privacy of her grieving family be respected and urged people to refrain from speculation or dissemination of unverified information.
