WATCH: Thane man exacts revenge; stabs another inside hotel premises

Thane: A 22-year-old chicken shop owner was attacked by a man with a chopper inside the premises of a hotel on the Mumbai-Nashik highway on January 18, 2023.

The whole incident was caught on CCTV. The Padgha police have arrested the assailant.

As per the initial information, five years ago the victim and his friend beat up the assailant's elder brother. The accused in order to take revenge attacked the chicken shop owner.

Case registered against accused

The Padgha police station in Bhiwandi has registered a case under various Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections against the accused and arrested him.

The victim had been identified as Bilal Mohammad Shaikh (22) a resident of Vadavali village at Bhiwandi taluka in Thane district and the accused has been identified as Bhavesh Vaman Belvale, a resident of Dohalegaon at Bhiwandi.

Anil Sable, senior police inspector, Padgha police station said, " The victim Bilal lives with his family in Vadavali village of Bhiwandi taluka. He has a chicken shop in Sape village. Bilal along with a friend had come for dinner on January 18 at Hotel Sagar Inn on the Mumbai-Nashik highway and at the same time, the assailant Bhavesh was also eating in the same hotel. When Bilal went to the corridor of the hotel to pay the food bill, the assailant Bhavesh followed him with a chopper on his waist and suddenly attacked Bilal. Bilal ran out of the hotel premises to save his life but the accused followed him there as well."

Bhavesh was taking revenge

Sable further added, "Bilal was seriously injured in the attack. His friend Sarfraz took him to Padgha rural hospital but as his condition was critical he was shifted to the Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) Hospital in Bhiwandi for treatment. After Bilal regained consciousness on January 19, he gave a statement to the Padgha police after which a case was registered against the accused Bhavesh under various sections."

Anil Sable said, "Bilal in his complaint mentioned that Bhavesh's elder brother Amol was beaten up by him and his friend Harish five years ago. Since then Bhavesh has been holding the anger and was bent on killing me. Bilal is currently undergoing treatment at the IGM hospital in Bhiwandi. We searched for the accused Bhavesh and arrested him on January 20. Further investigation in the case is underway."
