Thane Crime: ACB Arrests 56-Year-Old Bhiwandi Panchayat Samiti Engineer For Accepting ₹2.2 Lakh Bribe To Clear Sewage Bill
The Thane Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested a 56-year-old engineer posted in the construction Department in Panchayat Samiti Bhiwandi while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,20,000 for clearing the bill of the sewage. The accused has been identified as Pramod Yadavraj Jumble (56), who is posted as an engineer at the construction department, Panchayat Samiti, Thane.

Thane: The Thane Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested a 56-year-old engineer posted in the construction Department in Panchayat Samiti Bhiwandi while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,20,000 for clearing the bill of the sewage. The accused has been identified as Pramod Yadavraj Jumble (56), who is posted as an engineer at the construction department, Panchayat Samiti, Thane.
According to the ACB release, the complainant had completed sewer work under the gram panchayat, and three works had already been completed, and the bills were cleared. However, to make an new bill of sewage, the accused demanded a bribe of Rs 2,40,000 from him.
The complainant approached the ACB office in Thane to file a complaint against him on April 15.
ACB officials said that upon verification of the complaint filed by the complainant, it was discovered that he was demanded a bribe of Rs 2,40,000 and later it was negotiated and settled for Rs 2,40,000.
Following this verification, the ACB team laid a trap on April 28, and caught him red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 220,000 from the complainant. An FIR has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
