Thane Crime: 37-Year-Old Ivory Coast National Held With ₹2 Crore Worth Of MD Powder In Dombivli
The Manpada police have arrested a foreign national for allegedly possessing 1.51 kilograms of MD (mephedrone) powder, valued at over ₹2 crore. The accused has been identified as Esa Bacayoka (37), a originally resident from Ivory Coast in West Africa.

Thane: The Manpada police have arrested a foreign national for allegedly possessing 1.51 kilograms of MD (mephedrone) powder, valued at over ₹2 crore. The accused has been identified as Esa Bacayoka (37), a originally resident from Ivory Coast in West Africa.
Based on a tip-off received on July 7, police learned that a man would arrive near Talav in Nilje Gaon, Dombivli, around 10:50 PM to sell the contraband. A team was immediately dispatched to the location. The accused was intercepted, and upon search, 1.51 kilograms of mephedrone powder was recovered from his possession.
He was taken to the police station, and a case was registered against him under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Manpada police station.
DCP Atul Zende of the Kalyan Division said, “During preliminary investigation, it was found that the accused had been residing in Navi Mumbai. We are investigating the source of the contraband and where it may have been manufactured. Further inquiry is ongoing.”
The Kalyan police have appealed to citizens to contact them at 0251-2470104 if they have any information regarding drug trade or sale. The identity of informants will be kept confidential
