Thane: Two individuals sustained injuries after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car on the Hindu Hriday Balasaheb Thackeray flyover in Bhiwandi late Sunday night. The car had reportedly stopped due to a tyre puncture. The injured have been identified as Mujahid Ansari, Rajesh Kumar Yadav, — all residents of Bhiwandi.

According to the police, the two was headed to a hotel in Bhiwandi for dinner when their bike, allegedly being driven recklessly, rammed into the car, which was on its way from Bhiwandi to Kalyan and had stopped on the flyover due to a flat tyre and on the car signals.

Pillion Rider Thrown Off Flyover

Rajesh Kumar Yadav was thrown off the flyover onto the road below, while biker sustained multiple injuries. Locals rushed to the scene, alerted the police, and helped transport the injured to a nearby hospital. They were later referred to Nair Hospital in Mumbai for further treatment.

FIR Registered Against Biker

Shailendra Waghchaure, Police Sub-Inspector from Bhiwandi City Police Station, said, “Two of the injured were unconscious. During the preliminary investigation, it was found that Mujahid Ansari was riding the motorcycle, with Rajesh Kumar Yadav as the pillion rider. Rajesh was flung from the flyover due to the impact. An FIR has been registered against Mujahid under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act.”
