Mumbai: Ravindra Chavan, the newly appointed Maharashtra State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today. This marks Chavan’s first official meeting with the Prime Minister since his unanimous election as state president on July 1, 2025, succeeding Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
Chavan Presents Overview Of BJP's Activities In Maharashtra
During the courtesy visit, Chavan presented a comprehensive overview of the BJP’s organizational activities in Maharashtra, including plans for upcoming programs and strategies for party expansion.
He submitted a special booklet detailing the party’s “Karya Vistar Abhiyan” (Party Expansion Campaign), which outlines ongoing efforts at the booth level, including membership drives, training programs for office-bearers, outreach initiatives, and activities led by the women’s and youth wings.
PM Modi Congratulates Chavan On His New Role
Prime Minister Modi congratulated Chavan on his new role and extended best wishes for his future endeavors, expressing confidence in his leadership to strengthen the party’s presence in Maharashtra.
The meeting underscores the BJP’s focus on bolstering its organizational framework ahead of crucial local body elections expected later this year.
Chavan, a four-time MLA from Dombivli and a close aide of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, is tasked with advancing the party’s “Shat Pratishat BJP” (100% BJP) goal to secure victory in the 2029 Assembly polls without relying on allies.
