Panvel News: MLA Prashant Thakur Reviews PMC's New Under-Construction ‘Swarajya’ Headquarters, Emphasises Timely Completion And Citizen-Friendly Facilities
MLA Prashant Thakur conducted an inspection of the under-construction ‘Swarajya’ building, the new headquarters of Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC), and expressed satisfaction over the progress and quality of the ongoing work. During the site visit, he stressed that citizen convenience must remain a priority in the planning of the new facility.

Panvel: MLA Prashant Thakur conducted an inspection of the under-construction ‘Swarajya’ building, the new headquarters of Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC), and expressed satisfaction over the progress and quality of the ongoing work. During the site visit, he stressed that citizen convenience must remain a priority in the planning of the new facility.
Accompanied by former House Leader Paresh Thakur, former corporators Nitin Patil, Anil Bhagat, and Ajay Bahira, the MLA closely reviewed various aspects of the construction. City Engineer Sanjay Katekar presented a detailed report on the building’s current status, structure, and proposed amenities.
During the inspection, MLA Thakur emphasized the importance of ensuring facilities such as public transport access, parking spaces, clean restrooms, a cafeteria, a general assembly hall, and dedicated offices for key municipal roles—including the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Standing Committee, and Opposition Leader—along with two modern conference halls and committee meeting rooms. He also reviewed plans for post-construction operations.
The MLA directed that all work be completed on time while maintaining high quality standards. He noted that once completed, the 'Swarajya' headquarters will not only improve municipal functioning but also serve as a landmark for Panvel city.
