Palghar Murder Solved: Seven Held Including Minor In Brutal Killing Of 36-Year-Old Man
As reported earlier by the Free Press Journal, the incident occurred between 8:00 pm on May 15 and 7:25 am on May 16, 2025, at Ambat Goad Ground in Pasthal. The victim, 36-year-old Abhishek Ram Singh, originally from Jaunpur District, Uttar Pradesh, was found brutally murdered with severe head injuries inflicted by a sharp weapon.

Palghar, Maharashtra: The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Palghar Police has swiftly solved a murder case registered at Tarapur Police Station, apprehending six suspects and detaining one juvenile within days of the crime.
As reported earlier by the Free Press Journal, the incident occurred between 8:00 pm on May 15 and 7:25 am on May 16, 2025, at Ambat Goad Ground in Pasthal. The victim, 36-year-old Abhishek Ram Singh, originally from Jaunpur District, Uttar Pradesh, was found brutally murdered with severe head injuries inflicted by a sharp weapon.
Following a complaint filed by Singh's father, Ram Kalika Singh, a case was registered at Tarapur Police Station on May 16 under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
Recognizing the gravity of the crime, Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil immediately formed multiple investigative teams under the Local Crime Branch. These teams meticulously examined the crime scene, gathered testimonies, and reviewed CCTV footage from surrounding areas. The investigation extended across Vasai-Virar, Surat (Gujarat), and Darbhanga-Patna (Bihar), utilizing insights from informants and technical surveillance.
The coordinated efforts led to the detention of the following individuals: Bhushan Suresh Dhodi (19) of Pasthal-Somanpad, Ketan Ramesh Shinwar (20) of Varangade-Atlepada, Boisar, Rohit Sanjay Kawale (19) of Manpada, Boisar, Divesh Santosh Sutar (18) of Katkarpada, Boisar, Vishal Nandu Soman (23) of Somanpada, Pasthal, Sahil Rajendra Pawar (18) of Somanpada, Pasthal, and a 16-year-old juvenile.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that they had gathered for a party at the juvenile's home on the night of May 15. Around midnight, they went out on motorcycles and encountered the victim sleeping at the Ambat Goad ground. They began verbally abusing and physically assaulting him. When Singh attempted to flee, they pursued him and continued the assault, with one of them striking his head from behind with an iron rod. Upon realizing he had died, they fled the scene.
While the exact motive is still under investigation, police are probing whether the attack was driven by past enmity.
The six adult suspects were formally arrested on May 20, while the juvenile has been dealt with as per the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act.
