The initiative was aimed at empowering young survivors of cancer by helping them secure placements with reputed mainstream corporates, promoting opportunities without any discrimination based on caste, community, or creed.

Anil Nair, executive director and CEO of St Jude India ChildCare Centres, said, “We are grateful to AMP and Tata Memorial Hospital for partnering with us to organise this job mela. It is indeed the first of its kind for cancer survivors."

Najeeb ur Rehman, core team member, AMP, who mentored and motivated the candidates before the event, said that many of the participants had doubts about their employability, given their medical history. “Through proper motivation and counseling, we have seen that they can achieve wonders for themselves and their families. Our employability session prior to the Job Fair was aimed precisely at building their confidence and readiness," said Rehman.

Usha Banerjee, team leader at St. Jude's for Life, said that they focus on education, health, counseling, career guidance, and skilling to support the survivors. “Helping survivors secure jobs was the logical next step. This first effort, in collaboration with Tata Memorial Centre and AMP, has been a great success, and we look forward to many more such initiatives," said Banerjee.

Shahid Haider, head of AMP Employment Assistance Cell, said one of their objectives is to provide job opportunities to youth and make them self-sufficient. “So far, AMP has organised 105 Job Fairs and facilitated employment for over 75,000 youth across India."
