Thane: Kalyan MP Shrikant Shinde, son of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, visited Ambernath to review various ongoing development projects. During his visit, he reiterated that Operation Tiger, the political strategy aimed at strengthening the Shiv Sena, will continue.
He pointed out that a former MLA from the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) faction had recently joined their party and indicated that more such political shifts would occur in the coming days, reported Times of India.
Shinde Inspects Infra Projects In Ambernath
During his recent visit, Shinde inspected several key infrastructure projects aimed at improving Ambernath. Among them is the Rs 140 crore beautification project of the ancient Shiva temple, which is expected to enhance the site’s cultural and religious significance.
Additionally, a Rs 38 crore auditorium is being constructed at the circus ground, providing a modern venue for events. A Rs 10 crore sports complex is also being developed at Netaji Market to promote athletic activities in the region. During his review, Shinde directed officials to ensure that these projects are completed on time without delays.
Taking a dig at the opposition, Shinde stated that several leaders from the UBT faction are shifting their loyalties due to the developmental work undertaken under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s leadership over the last two and a half years. He suggested that the opposition was unable to retain its members because of its lack of meaningful progress.

Shinde Speaks On Dinner Diplomacy Row
Shinde also addressed the controversy surrounding “dinner diplomacy,” where certain opposition leaders allegedly advised their MLAs and MPs not to attend social gatherings with the ruling party. He claimed that despite these directives, many leaders still chose to attend such events due to the strong personal and political ties they share with his faction, something he said UBT had failed to cultivate.
Further criticising the opposition, Shinde remarked that UBT leaders view politics in everything, including awards received by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He argued that instead of continuously questioning the government’s initiatives, the opposition should introspect on why their own members are leaving. He also pointed out that not just Shiv Sena UBT leaders but even their alliance partners within the Mahavikas Aghadi were beginning to distance themselves from the party.
