'No More Long Waits': Maharashtra Govt Reduces Waiting Period For Civic Services, Moves Processes Online
From now on, you can expect time-bound service delivery offered by the Municipal Corporations and Councils, thanks to Maharashtra's decision to reduce the waiting period. As a result, 25 services offered by the civic bodies, for which most of the citizens make rounds of the municipal offices, will be done online.

Mumbai: From now on, you can expect time-bound service delivery offered by the Municipal Corporations and Councils, thanks to Maharashtra's decision to reduce the waiting period. As a result, 25 services offered by the civic bodies, for which most of the citizens make rounds of the municipal offices, will be done online.
The state promises that a water connection will be provided within 7 days instead of the 15 days prescribed earlier. To register property transactions or submit inheritance certificates, the period has been reduced to 12 days instead of 15. As per Section 3 of the Maharashtra Right to Services Act 2015, henceforth, one can expect a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the fire services department within 12 days instead of 15 days.
Similarly, period for permissions such as - for road digging (within 12 days instead of 30 days), business license renewal (10 days instead of 15 days), duplicate copy of the license (7 days against the existing period of 15 days), NOC for the food registration (12 days against the existing period of 30 days), renewal of the Nursing Home license (15 days instead of 30 days), hawker registration certificate (7 days against the 15 days), renewal of license for wedding halls, auditoriums (15 days instead of 30 days) have been reduced.
All the notified services will be available online to avoid visits to the municipal offices, says the state decision (GR) issued on Friday. All the services will be app-based, for which the municipal bodies will develop applications. The municipal bodies will develop a GIS system, and it will be integrated with the online services.
