Navi Mumbai Tragedy: 32-Year-Old Lady Doctor Killed, Another Critically Injured After Speeding Container Collides With WagonR On Mumbai–Goa Highway
A 32-year-old lady doctor died while another 30-year-old doctor received serious injuries after their WagonR car collided with a container truck on the Mumbai–Goa National Highway near Lakhpale in Raigad district on Tuesday evening.

Navi Mumbai: A 32-year-old lady doctor died while another 30-year-old doctor received serious injuries after their WagonR car collided with a container truck on the Mumbai–Goa National Highway near Lakhpale in Raigad district on Tuesday evening.
Driver Seriously Injured, Both From Beed District
The deceased has been identified as Dr. Priyanka Bhaskar Aher, a native of Beed and working as tutor in the Anatomy department of Symbiosis Medical College for Women in Pune. The injured, Dr. Vishal Ramesh Bade, also from Beed district and a student with Sassoon Hospital was driving the car at the time of the accident.
According to police, the incident took place around 5:30 pm on Tuesday when a container truck (MH-43 Y 6056), driven by Rahul Ramchandra Yadav (24) from Uttar Pradesh, was heading from Mahad towards Mumbai.
Truck Driven in Alleged Zigzag Manner
"Despite the uphill terrain, the driver allegedly drove the vehicle in a zigzag manner, shifting lanes," said police sub inspector Sopan Raskar from Goregaon police station in Raigad.
Impact Caused Instant Fatal Injuries
As the truck approached the Nirmal HP petrol pump at Lakhpale, the doctors’ WagonR (MH-14 MC 9859) crashed into the rear undercarriage of the truck. The impact caused severe head injuries to Dr. Aher, resulting in her death on the spot due to excessive bleeding. Dr. Bade sustained multiple serious injuries and was rushed to hospital.
Locals and Police Rushed to Help
Goregaon Police Station in-charge API Vijay Surve and his team arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the alert, with local residents helping to move the victims to the hospital.

Case Registered Under BNS and Motor Vehicles Act
A case has been registered under sections 106, 281, 125(a), 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The investigation is being carried out by PSI Raskar under the guidance of API Surve.
