Navi Mumbai: A 22-year-old woman, staying as a paying guest at Omkar Giri Society in Airoli Sector-1, allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself, in an incident that took place on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Nandini Hariom Tiwari. Police have stated that the exact reason behind her suicide is yet to be ascertained. Rabale police have registered a case of accidental death and begun further investigation.
Nandini Tiwari, originally from Karanpur, was working with an IT company. She was currently living as a paying guest with three other women in Omkar Giri Society, Airoli Sector-1. As Sunday was a holiday, the three girls staying with her had left for their respective homes on Saturday, leaving Nandini alone in the room. It was during this time that she allegedly ended her life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her room.
When Nandini did not open the door until late Sunday afternoon, police were called around 12 noon. Rabale police reached the spot and opened the door of the flat where Nandini was staying, only to find her hanging inside. Her body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. "We are investigating to find the exact cause of her act," a police officer from Rabale police station said.
