A concerned citizen has raised the alarm over persistent and hazardous road obstructions in multiple sectors of Nerul, Navi Mumbai. In a written complaint addressed to municipal authorities, the resident has highlighted several issues affecting public safety and daily traffic flow, particularly in Sectors 23, 25, and 27 under the Nerul node of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC).

Navi Mumbai: A concerned citizen has raised the alarm over persistent and hazardous road obstructions in multiple sectors of Nerul, Navi Mumbai. In a written complaint addressed to municipal authorities, the resident has highlighted several issues affecting public safety and daily traffic flow, particularly in Sectors 23, 25, and 27 under the Nerul node of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC).

The letter, sent by resident and advocate Pradeep Patil, points out that flower pots placed on roads are reducing the usable width of the carriageway, leading to increased congestion. He mentioned that traffic remains congested throughout the day due to these obstructions, compounded by the presence of illegal banners on the road and roadside food stalls that litter public areas.

The complaint also brings attention to unauthorized banners and advertisements that obstruct both pedestrian and vehicular movement. Additionally, illegal parking of vehicles on footpaths and roads, particularly near Shanti Park Apartments, is reportedly causing severe traffic jams. A specific concern was also raised about a four-wheeler permanently parked on the footpath near Seawoods Railway Station.

The resident emphasized that these obstructions are not only an inconvenience but also pose safety hazards for daily commuters, especially in high-traffic zones near Seawoods railway station and surrounding marketplaces. He urged the municipal body to take immediate action to remove these barriers, regulate street vendors, and restore accessibility and cleanliness to public infrastructure.

The complaint reflects growing citizen frustration over civic negligence and is expected to increase pressure on local authorities to act swiftly. when contacted the ward office stated of regularly conducting drives to remove encroachments and has stated of doing more such drives in future.
