In a striking political development, Yuva Sena — the youth wing of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction — has launched a direct protest against Forest Minister Ganesh Naik, raising serious questions about the state of municipal healthcare services in Navi Mumbai.

The protest, led by newly appointed Yuva Sena district president Aniket Mhatre, was held outside a Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) hospital that Naik had recently praised for incorporating German technology. However, Yuva Sena leaders allege that despite claims of advanced infrastructure, the hospital fails to offer even basic diagnostic services and does not have facilities for critical surgeries related to the heart, brain, and kidneys.

“This is one of the wealthiest municipal corporations in the state, yet essential services like complete blood tests and complex surgeries are missing. In such a situation, what’s the real benefit of German technology?” questioned Mhatre during the protest.

The demonstration marked a renewed aggression from the Yuva Sena.

As part of the agitation, Yuva Sena submitted a memorandum of demands to the hospital administration. Mhatre issued a strong warning that if these demands were not addressed, the Yuva Sena would escalate its efforts into a larger public movement.
