Navi Mumbai: The Sajag Nagarik Manch has urged Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to implement modern technology to check alleged rampant corruption and broker influence in the functioning of CIDCO.
In a representation sent to the CM, the forum claimed that unauthorized agents enjoy free access to CIDCO offices, overshadowing the official machinery and making citizen services prone to delays and irregularities.
To address these issues, the forum has proposed the use of facial recognition systems at CIDCO entry points to digitally record and monitor all visitors. This, they argue, will help identify and restrict the frequent and unauthorized visits of brokers.
The Manch also called for the introduction of a comprehensive Single Window Digital System on CIDCO’s official website, through which citizens can submit their applications and documents online. This system, if fully integrated with an e-office platform, will minimize human interference and expose deliberate delays by officials.
Additionally, the forum suggested that transfers and postings of CIDCO staff be conducted transparently through an open lottery system, as per government transfer guidelines. This move, they believe, will break the cycle of favoritism and reduce the scope for corruption linked to staff postings in key departments.

The forum has urged the government to bridge this gap using technology-backed reforms to restore public trust in CIDCO’s operations.
