Navi Mumbai: As part of the nationwide celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has launched a dedicated awareness campaign titled “Ghar Ghar Samvidhan” (Constitution in Every Home). The initiative, aims to deepen citizens’ understanding of constitutional rights and values.

Special Workshop Held for SHG Women in Airoli

In the latest phase of the campaign, a special Constitutional Literacy Workshop was held on July 30 at the Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial in Airoli for women active in Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across the city. The session witnessed the participation of 97 women members from all eight wards of Navi Mumbai, from Belapur to Digha.

Expert Simplifies Rights and Duties for Citizens

Expert Suresh Sawant conducted the session, simplifying key aspects of the Constitution—including fundamental rights, duties, and democratic values for the attendees. The workshop aimed at empowering women with legal awareness and promoting informed civic participation.

Earlier Sessions Held for Civic Staff and Social Workers

Earlier phases of the campaign saw similar sessions conducted for NMMC officials and staff. On May 22, a workshop was organized at the Late Annasaheb Patil Memorial Hall attended by the Koparkhairane ward office.

Another workshop was held on May 29 at the Airoli memorial for social workers, group coordinators, and officials from the Ghansoli, Airoli, and Digha ward offices.

Ward-Wise Workshops Planned Across City

NMMC officials said that the civic body plans to conduct ward-wise workshops for in the coming weeks to expand the reach of the Constitution awareness campaign.
