Navi Mumbai: Former Deputy Mayor and ex-Leader of Opposition in the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), Ramakant Narayan Mhatre, has written a formal letter to the NMMC Commissioner demanding an official clarification over recent allegations made by Maharashtra’s Forest Minister Ganesh Naik.
Speaking at a media interaction held at Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium in Vashi, the Minister reportedly made serious claims concerning water theft and theft of medical supplies within Navi Mumbai. These remarks according to Mhatre have sparked confusion and concern among local residents, prompting the former corporator to seek answers directly from the civic administration.
In his letter dated July 1, Mhatre questioned whether the NMMC has taken any action regarding these allegations and whether any formal complaints have been filed with the police.
“If such incidents of water and medicine theft have occurred, what steps has the corporation taken? Has any written complaint been submitted to the police department?” he asked.
