Navi Mumbai News: Chandramani Mishra Appointed In-Charge Chief Engineer Of MSEDCL’s Bhandup Circle After Sunil Kakade’s Transfer To Pune
Following his transfer, Chandramani Mishra, currently serving as the Chief Engineer of Kalyan Circle, has been given additional charge as In-Charge Chief Engineer of the Bhandup Circle.

In a key administrative move, Sunil Kakade, who served as the Chief Engineer of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL)'s Bhandup Urban Circle since 2022, has been transferred to the Pune Circle on an equivalent post. Known for his initiatives to curb power theft, reduce transmission losses, and improve bill recovery, Kakade's tenure was marked by effective handling of operational challenges.
Following his transfer, Chandramani Mishra, currently serving as the Chief Engineer of Kalyan Circle, has been given additional charge as In-Charge Chief Engineer of the Bhandup Circle.
A native of Mumbai, Chandramani Mishra holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from NIT Jaipur, where he graduated with distinction. He began his career in July 2003 as a Junior Engineer in Alibaug, under the erstwhile Maharashtra State Electricity Board. Over the years, he rose through the ranks, being appointed Deputy Executive Engineer and later Executive Engineer through direct recruitment in 2009. He has served in various capacities at Vashi, Aurangabad, and at MSEDCL’s Head Office.
Between 2018 and 2022, as Superintending Engineer in the Special Projects Department, Mishra led key renewable initiatives. Under his leadership, over one lakh solar agricultural pumps were installed across Maharashtra under the Chief Minister’s Solar Agricultural Pump Scheme. He also played a significant role in the development of solar rooftop systems and EV charging stations, earning MSEDCL several state and national awards.

In June 2024, he was promoted to Chief Engineer of Kalyan Circle, where he focused on reducing power losses, enhancing revenue generation, and prioritizing efficient customer service.
Speaking on his new role, Mishra said, “I am committed to ensuring uninterrupted, high-quality service to our consumers. Under this new responsibility, we will continue to expand MSEDCL’s services, improve customer outreach, and collectively work to increase revenue and operational efficiency.”
