Navi Mumbai News: 47 NMMC School Students Secure Merit Ranks In Maharashtra State Scholarship Exams 2025 For Class 5 And 8
A total of 47 students from Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) schools have secured their place in the merit list of the Maharashtra State Scholarship Examinations for Class 5 and Class 8, achieving remarkable academic success.

Navi Mumbai: A total of 47 students from Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) schools have secured their place in the merit list of the Maharashtra State Scholarship Examinations for Class 5 and Class 8, achieving remarkable academic success.
The Maharashtra State Examination Council conducts the Pre-Upper Primary (Class 5) and Pre-Secondary (Class 8) Scholarship Exams annually. For the academic year 2024–25, a total of 5,950 students from various schools across all management and mediums appeared for the exams. Of these, 1,644 students were from NMMC-run schools — 851 from Class 5 and 793 from Class 8.
Following the recently announced results, 239 students from across the Navi Mumbai region have been declared successful including 129 from Class 5 and 110 from Class 8. Out of these, 47 students from NMMC schools have earned places in the merit list: 25 from Class 5 and 22 from Class 8.
Among the top performers is Swarali Vitthal Jagdhane, a Class 8 student from NMMC School No. 42, Ghansoli, secured the first rank among municipal school students and an impressive third rank across Thane district. In Class 5, Shubhra Bhagwan Gaikwad stood first among NMMC school students.

The NMMC Education Department attributed the success to a well-structured preparation plan, which included scholarship preparation guides, extra classes, personalized mentoring, expert-led sessions, and practice exams conducted at both school and zonal levels.
