MahaVitaran – Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation (MSEDC) has introduced the ‘Lucky Digital Customer Scheme’ for low-tension electricity consumers who pay their bills online for three or more consecutive months. Running from January to May this year, the scheme offers 1,230 prizes, including smartphones and smartwatches, across 82 subdivisions in the Kalyan and Bhandup circles.
Each subdivision will have five prizes per lucky draw: First prize – one smartphone, second prize – two smartphones, and third prize – two smartwatches. Three lucky draws will be conducted for the months of April, May, and June. If a winner does not respond within 10 days or is found ineligible due to outstanding dues, the prize will be awarded to a waiting-list winner. The scheme is not applicable to MahaVitaran employees.
Consumers can participate by paying their electricity bills online through net banking, debit card, credit card, UPI, wallets, QR code, NEFT, or RTGS for three or more consecutive months between January 1 and May 31, 2025. They must also ensure that their previous month’s outstanding bill does not exceed Rs 10. The lucky draw will be conducted online, and each consumer will be eligible for only one prize during the scheme’s duration.
"The scheme is targeted at consumers who do not make payments using online mode and this scheme would encourage them to switch to the online mode of payment. Lucky draw results will be announced on MahaVitaran’s website and sent to winners via registered mobile numbers in the first week of each month. Further details can be looked up from the website of mahadiscom,” an official from MSEDC said.
