Navi Mumbai Hit-And-Run: 35-Year-Old Dombivli Man Killed After Scooter Hit By Unidentified Vehicle On Mahape-Shilphata Road; Case Registered
A 35-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run accident after an unidentified vehicle rammed into his scooter on the Mahape-Shilphata Road late Wednesday night. The incident occurred near the Mahape check post around 12.30 am.

Navi Mumbai: A 35-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run accident after an unidentified vehicle rammed into his scooter on the Mahape-Shilphata Road late Wednesday night. The incident occurred near the Mahape check post around 12.30 am.
The deceased, identified as Rohit Pilankar, was a resident of Palava City in Dombivli. He had visited Navi Mumbai for work and was returning home on his Jupiter scooter from Koparkhairane around midnight. As he neared the check post on the Mahape-Shilphata stretch, an unidentified vehicle collided with his scooter, causing him to fall and sustain critical injuries.
The vehicle driver however fled the scene without providing any assistance or calling for medical help. Upon receiving the alert, officials from Turbhe MIDC Police Station rushed to the spot and shifted the injured Pilankar to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead before admission.

"We have registered a case against the unknown driver and have launched a manhunt to trace the absconding vehicle and its driver. Further investigation is underway," a police official from Turbhe MIDC police station said.
