A seven-year-old girl was injured after an iron rod fell from the SRA site in Kurar Village, Malad East. The girl sustained injuries to her nose, back, and left leg. She received treatment at Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali West. The girl's mother, Niti Majalkar, has filed a complaint against the DGS developer, site manager and workers at the Kurar Police Station. The police have registered an FIR against an unidentified individual under Sections 125(a) (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 324(2) (mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
According to the FIR, a building is being constructed under a slum redevelopment scheme in the Laxman Nagar area of Kurar Village, Malad East. There is a chawl named Shivprasad near the construction site, where children were playing on Sunday afternoon. Around 1:45 PM, an iron rod slipped from a worker’s hand and fell. At that time, a girl named Ishanvi Majalkar, who was playing below, was seriously injured when the rod struck her. She is currently undergoing treatment at Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali West.

Eyewitness Rohit Dewadiga, 27, stated in the complaint that DGS Developers is constructing the SRA site, and something from the site fell on the Majalkar family's house. He also mentioned that a bamboo pole fell from the site in front of him, and he narrowly escaped injury.
The girl’s mother alleged in her complaint that the developer had not taken adequate safety measures and had failed to install a protective net at the construction site. Based on the complaint, the Kurar Village police have registered a case.
