Mumbai Reports 32 New COVID-19 Patients; Maharashtra Active Cases Rise To 467 Amid Mild Symptoms
On Friday, May 30, as many as 84 new COVID-19 patients were reported in Maharashtra, of which the highest 32 were from Mumbai, followed by 19 in Pimpri Chinchwad and 14 in Thane. This takes the total tally of active COVID-19 patients in the state to 467.

Mumbai: On Friday, May 30, as many as 84 new COVID-19 patients were reported in Maharashtra, of which the highest 32 were from Mumbai, followed by 19 in Pimpri Chinchwad and 14 in Thane. This takes the total tally of active COVID-19 patients in the state to 467.
The total number of patients diagnosed with COVID in Mumbai since January 2025 has come to 411. Of the total, 405 are diagnosed this month, highlighting the sudden spike in patients.
“Currently, ILI (Influenza-like Illness) and SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Infection) surveys are underway in Maharashtra for identifying COVID patients. Patients tested for COVID in the state have mild symptoms, and sufficient testing and treatment facilities are made available,” the statement by the state public health department said, urging citizens not to panic.
A total of seven patients have lost their lives due to COVID since January 2025 in the state. However, the deceased were affected with comorbidities, the state health department clarified.

“One of these patients had hypocalcemic seizures with nephrotic syndrome and the second had cancer. The third had a stroke (Cerebrovascular Disease) and was having fits. The fourth had diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA with LRTI). The fifth had ILD (Interstitial Lung Disease). The sixth had diabetes and had been paralysed since 2014. The seventh patient was a 47-year-old woman who presented with fever and shortness of breath,” the department said.
